FALKEN, a Sumitomo Rubber Industries brand, was launched in its native country of Japan in 1983.
At its inception, Falken was created as the flagship high performance radial tire brand. Now,
more than three decades later, Falken has become a well-known,
stand-alone brand that focuses on high performance products while
utilizing professional motorsports to further develop and improve products for the world.

HISTORY

In 1983, Falken was created as high performance brand of OHTSU Rubber & Tire in Japan.
Falken followed a conservative marketing approach, introducing product slowly, winning races in its homeland which demonstrated the company’s technological capabilities early on, and then, when ready, expanding into new markets, launching tires that fit the personality of targeted drivers – those who relished the association with a winning brand.
In 2003, OHTSU Rubber & Tire was merged into Sumitomo Rubber Industries, the world's 6th largest tire manufacturer, and became their global and strategic tire barand.
