Team FALKEN’s Yoshihide Muroya to Compete in “Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2017” in New Plane Bedecked in FALKEN Colors

FALKEN is pleased to announce that Team FALKEN’s pilot Yoshihide Muroya, whom we sponsor through our FALKEN brand, will be competing in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2017 in a new race plane bedecked in FALKEN colors from the second race of the season, which will be held over the coming April 15-16 weekend in San Diego, California.

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship features the world’s best race pilots in a pure motorsport competition that combines speed, precision and skill. Using the fastest, most agile, lightweight racing planes, pilots hit speeds of 370kmh while enduring forces of up to 10G as they navigate a low-level slalom track marked by 25-meter-high, air-filled pylons. Yoshihide Muroya is an outstanding pilot whose hard-won flying skills have earned him widespread recognition on the global stage.
Holding the distinction of being the only pilot from Asia to compete in the Master Class he fulfilled a lifelong dream during last year’s Red Bull Air Race World Championship when he won his first ever race and ascended to the top of the podium at the third race of the Championship, which was held in the city of Chiba in his native Japan. He also went on to place sixth overall in last year’s Championship.

The design of Mr. Muroya’s new race plane is based on the “Wings of a Falcon Soaring through the Sky” motif that FALKEN has long used in its motorsports activities. With its green representing a youthful mindset and its blue representing high technological capability, this motif was designed as an expression of FALKEN’s passion and sincerity.

FALKEN has developed and refined its exceptional technical prowess through years of active participation in motorsports activities, including competing in the world-famous 24h-Race Nürburgring, which is widely considered to be the world’s toughest endurance race. Setting our sights on new challenges, we began sponsoring Mr. Muroya in 2015, supporting him as he competes in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship.. Through our ongoing support of Mr. Muroya as he takes to the skies decked in traditional FALKEN colors, we will continue to enhance the value of the FALKEN brand by continually promoting and highlighting its image as a youthful and energetic brand.
